Sts. Peter and Paul Missions Ministry
The Saints Peter and Paul Missions Ministry was started in 2011 with the blessings of His Eminence Metropolitan Nikitas, Father Gregory Koo of the St. Basil the Great Greek Orthodox Church, and Father Ion Coman of the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. Our ministry's name was selected because one church has St. Peter on the iconostases, and the other has St. Paul. Both saints were dedicated to sharing the message of Christ with the world.
Saints Peter and Paul Missions Ministry is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes. We strive to educate and engage the faithful of our parish and member parishes of our Metropolis about missions and opportunities to fulfill the Great Commission of Jesus Christ. Those last words of Christ were, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age” (Mathew 28: 16-20).
We support and promote charities that share our purposes. Our outreaches have included the Theotokos Girls’ Orphanage and Saint Ignatius school in Kolkata, the SAMP program for indigenous mission priests through the OCMC, short and long-term Orthodox missionaries, and the St. Nicholas Uganda Children’s Fund. Please visit our Saints Peter and Paul Missions Ministry Facebook page to learn more about our outreach and to see our fundraising events.
The membership consists of the Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer, and members at large. Membership to our ministry is open to individuals from our own and other Orthodox parishes. Meetings are held once a month, the third Thursday of the month. We adhere to the ministry’s bylaws, do not have term limits, and our nominations require the parish priests’ blessings.
We can be contacted by email at missions@saintnicholas.org for more information or meeting dates and upcoming events. We welcome your inquiries and participation.
We welcome all!
