St. Anna Philoptochos

The Philoptochos Society of Saint Nicholas provides the women of our parish with opportunities to use their God-given gifts in the service of their Church and Community.

The charitable work of the Society shall be performed with discretion, courtesy and kindness.

Our Mission

To help the poor, the destitute, the hungry, the aged, the sick, the unemployed, the orphaned, the imprisoned, the widowed, the handicapped, the victims of disasters, to undertake the burial of impoverished persons and to offer assistance to anyone who may need the help of the Church through fundraising efforts.

To promote the charitable, benevolent, and philanthropic purposes of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, through instructional programs, presentations, lectures, seminars and other educational resources.

National Philoptochos Chapter Commitments

The National Philoptochos Commitments are adopted by the Chapter delegates at the National Philoptochos Biennial Conventions and approved by His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America.

St. Anna Philoptochos Chapter supports these commitments through various fundraising activities as well as membership dues. These commitments support our mission of helping those in need and perpetuating Orthodox Christian beliefs, history and values.

Chapter Commitments That Support Ministries of Metropolis of San Francisco Philoptochos

Throughout the year the Metropolis of San Francisco Philoptochos provides opportunities for fellowship, education, outreach and philanthropy. The women of Philoptochos for many generations have worked to feed the hungry, heal the infirm, visit the weary, assist the needy and offer kindness to the poor. The commitments to the Metropolis listed support our Chapter’s mission of helping those in need and perpetuating Orthodox Christian beliefs, history and values.
